Exmouth Sea Wall Emergency Repairs

During a storm in October 2023, a 90m long section of the masonry sea wall on Exmouth sea front failed structurally. Fortunately, this failure was not catastrophic and was prevented from
being so by the emergency repairs that TMS implemented immediately after the storm had abated. Historically, there have been sand dunes in front of the sea wall providing it with
additional protection, but over time metres of sand have been lost making the wall vulnerable.

Axmouth Harbour Wall Repairs

For East Devon Council

2024

TMS were appointed to make repairs at Axmouth Harbour. The works consisted of: concrete repairs, masonry wall
repointing and repairs, a small rebuild section and void filling of the bridge buttress.

Discovery Quay, Falmouth

2022

The existing Roundhead Quay Wall at Discovery Quay is an existing sheet piled wall that protects the National Maritime Museum Cornwall.

The wall had been showing signs of corrosion, particularly in the splash zones, which was evidenced in the pitting, rust staining and surface delamination that was present.

the masonry harbour wall situated at Brunswick Wharf in Bideford.

Watchet Quay Wall Repair

For Somerset West and Taunton Council

2021

TMS were awarded the design and build contract for repair works at East
Quay, Watchet Harbour. The project included the installation of a 42 m
section of new sheet pile wall and waling beams. The existing sheet piled
quay wall, used as both a leisure and commercial facility, had failed and
was collapsing into the harbour.

Pontoon Piles, Newhaven

For Rampion Offshore Windfarm

5 Months

Working on behalf of Knights Brown, TMS were appointed to complete the marine works for the installation of new
pontoons at Rampion Offshore Wind Farm’s landing facility in the Port of Newhaven. TMS completed the piling works from marine
floating plant with a 135t crawler crane and 60t long-reach mobilised on the barge deck. The piles were installed using a PVE 25M
standard frequency vibro hammer. All of the new pontoons were successfully configured on the new piles as all of the piles were
positioned within small tolerance

Ilfracombe Sea Wall Repairs

For North Devon District Council

Working on behalf of North Devon District Council, TMS
were appointed to complete sea wall repair works to a section of wall
in the inner harbour. Areas of the existing wall has signs of existing
repairs. The historic harbour which was built in the 12th century has
been a popular tourist attraction and is still today a working harbour
with fish and seafood being landed daily

Fender Installation, Falmouth

For A&P County Wharf

August 2022

In August 2022, Teignmouth Maritime Services were contracted by
A&P County Wharf at Falmouth Docks to install three new fender units
to replace the failed wooden fenders that were already in situ.
With input from TMS Ltd, the design solution used a pre-fabricated
fender head unit supported on 4 driven piles. The bespoke-designed
fender head was fabricated by TMS’s BS EN ISO1090 accredited
welders.

Wellington Docks Boat Hoist

TMS were appointed by Walker Construction (Principal Contractor) as a
specialist Marine Contractor on the construction of a new vertical boat

Port of Middlesbrough Failed Quay

For AV Dawson

2020 - 2021

TMS were appointed by AV Dawson to carry out the replacement of a failed
section of quay in Middlesbrough Port. Due to increasing dredge depth and
quay loading, the existing sheet piled quay wall had suffered partial failure
and required replacement to prevent collapse and allow for future
operational loading.

Gwynedd Council who managed delivery along with their Consultancy partners YGC. TMS Ltd took on the project as Principal
